Workshops for diabetic patients in Warsaw and Gdańsk
On 25 August 2015, the Warsaw’s Parade Square became a place friendly to all diabetic patients and healthy-eating aficionados. The event happening within the framework of the Menu for a Diabetic Patient project, featured cooking together, free dietitian consultations, blood sugar examinations, and an opportunity to talk about the diabetes prevention.
As a partner of a special Meat and Cold Cuts in a Diabetic Diet programme, the Sokołów S.A. company has prepared a special surprise for the workshop participants. Dominik Moskalenko, Sokołów's culinary advisor, encouraged cooking together. He has also prepared a special diet bavette salad. The workshops were an excellent opportunity to learn the practical ins and outs of a diabetic diet, and to take advantage of free consultations on healthy lifestyle.
On 30 August 2015, this diabetic patient-friendly event moved to the city of Gdańsk. The attendance exceeded all expectations, and square by the St. Mary's Basilica was turned into a centre of culinary education and entertainment.
The workshops were organised by the Coalition Against Diabetes within the scope of the national Menu for a Diabetic Patient project. The project’s intention is to help people with diabetes in selecting products and composing meals in accordance with the guidelines of the diabetic diet, as well as to involve the restaurant-owners, food producers and the media in spreading knowledge about the diabetic diet. This task is co-financed by the Ministry of Health. See you at the next workshop!
