Warmian-Masurian Personality of the Year Gala — Catering service with the Uczta Qulinarna in the spotlight

On 30 March 2015 the Warmian-Masurian Philharmonic was the venue for the 2014 Warmian-Masurian Personality of the Year Gala. It was organised by the Warmian-Masurian Business Club. Hotel Anders in Stare Jabłonki together with Sokołów S.A. has provided catering service for the event.

The history of the title of the Warmian-Masurian Personality of the Year, awarded by the Warmian-Masurian Business Club, dates back to 1994. The statuette goes to people from outside of business, who have distinguished themselves with active promotion of culture, science and social activities in the region. It is also a tradition to award the Honorary Warmian-Masurian Personality of the Year award to people who have made an unquestionable contribution to development of Poland. In the previous years, the title was awarded to Elżbieta Bieńkowska, Jerzy Buzek, Zbigniew Religa, Lech Wałęsa and others.

The Gala's catering service, a true culinary feast prepared by Hotel Anders in partnership with Sokołów S.A., the most recognizable meat brand on the Polish market, was an important element of the event. Hotel Anders has been caring for the catering on the Warmian-Masurian Business Club Gala for several years.

This year, together with Sokołów S.A, it has prepared an interesting catering offer, which included, among other things, beef tartar on garlic toast, roast beef on green beans with roasted sesame seeds and soy sauce, carpaccio on rocket salad with Parmigiano-Reggiano and truffle oil, flank steak with marinated radish and fresh cucumber with black sesame seeds (miso paste), baked culotte steak on toast with sour cucumber, red onion and mustard, and beef Wellington tenderloin with Yorkshire pudding and gravy. The beef menu was prepared by Dominik Moskalenko.

This year’s Warmian-Masurian Personality of the Year gala laureate list features, among others: The Cardiac Surgery Department of the Regional Specialist Hospital in Olsztyn for outstanding achievements in surgical treatment of heart and vascular diseases, the University of Warmia and Mazury’s “Kortowo” Song and Dance Ensemble for great artistic achievements and promoting Polish folklore at home and abroad for 45 years, and professor Andrzej Krankowski from the University of Warmia and Mazury for his phenomenal scientific achievements in studying of ionosphere using radio technology.
