Meat and Cold Cuts in a Diabetic Diet — Sokołów for the diabetic patients
Sokołów S.A. has joined the community action aimed at raising awareness of the disease, initiated by the Coalition Against Diabetes.
Educational activities will be directed primarily to the patients themselves, who often do not follow a proper diet, which in their case should constitute a basis for normal functioning.
There are over 3 million people suffering from diabetes in Poland. This is the first non-infectious disease declared to be the epidemic of the 21st century by the World Health Organization.
The project will supply the diabetic patients with new food options and will work towards changing their eating habits. Working together with specialists from the Coalition Against Diabetes we will create the Menu for a Diabetic Patient.
We have started with education on Meat and Cold Cuts in the Diabetic Diet and picked a couple of our propositions and dish recipes that can be part of such diet. You can see our recommended recipes at: www.menudladiabetyka.pl.
The campaign was launched on a press meeting, during which a panel discussion on diabetes was held. Agnieszka Piskała (dietitian), Beata Stepanow (educator and President of the Association of Education on Diabetes), Agata Michalak (Editor in Chief of the “Kukbuk” magazine) and Antoni Gibowicz (Sokołów S.A. representative) have all shared their knowledge and insights on diabetes. The meeting was led by Paweł Loroch, who succeeded in making the topic of diabetes approachable. David Gaboriaud himself led the culinary workshops and conjured up tasty dishes suitable for diabetic patients.
It’s the Sokołów S.A. company’s mission to adjust to consumer expectations. Diabetic patients constitute a large group of our clients. Our latest product lines, such as Qulinary Feast — Beef from Sokołów, were prepared with the needs of the diabetic consumer in mind – stressed Dr Antoni Gibowicz, the Sokołów S.A. Management Board Proxy for Quality Control System during the press breakfast.
The aim of the Menu for a Diabetic Patient campaign is the initiation of a large-scale discussion on preventing diabetes and adapting products and foods to the needs of the people suffering from the disease.
