Sokołów President of the Management Board: We are investing in youth!
The Sokołów Group has been investing in its employees for years by supporting various forms of education - from providing training platforms, through the financing of retraining courses, to reimbursement of higher education costs. Now, the company is opening itself to future employees even more, by taking patronage over two classes from the Władysław Stanisław Reymont Agricultural Education Centre School Complex in Sokołów Podlaski.
– As the region’s biggest employer, we see the need for a closer cooperation with educational institutions, which in the future may help us to prepare professional staff, especially if they are meat industry professionals. Working with the headmaster of the Władysław Stanisław Reymont Agricultural Education Centre School Complex in Sokołów Podlaski, we have prepared a programme, that will ensure that the graduates not only gain theoretical knowledge but above all acquire practical skills through apprenticeships in the most technologically advanced meat processing plant in Europe — our Sokołów Podlaski facility. The benefits are therefore mutual — at the end of their studies, students have an open career path and practical skills and us, as a company, are gaining true professionals who will be writing the history of the Sokołów Group together with us in the near future — says Bogusław Miszczuk, Sokołów S.A. President of the Management Board.
Sokołów took patronage over two classes from the Władysław Stanisław Reymont Agricultural Education Centre School Complex in Sokołów Podlaski, training in the following professions: food technologist and food industry machine and equipment operator.
– We have been cooperating with the school since 2011. Our goal is to steadily increase the level of vocational practical training and prepare graduates for the challenges of the labour market. Together we organize practical classes and in the near future, we plan to conduct professional examinations in our facility. We also plan to organize professional trips, participate in specialist courses and conferences, initiate competitions for students and co-finance equipment classroom equipment. Every qualified student will receive a scholarship from us and, most importantly, every graduate has a guaranteed job in Sokołów S.A. The results of this year's recruitment process are more than satisfactory. At the end of last school year, together with the Agricultural Education Centre, we have organized a series of meetings with students and parents of junior high school students from all over the region, which resulted in the achievement of our goals in 100%. Currently, 34 students are studying to become the food industry machinery and equipment operator and food technologist, who we will continue to support and develop if they show such interest – adds Kazimierz Kisiel, Sokołów Podlaski Branch Director.
