Safety production a priority in the face of ASF
Due to the dynamic situation regarding the African swine fever virus, the Sokołów S.A. would like to inform that it operates in accordance to all applicable legal acts.
We are aware of the seriousness of the situation, the threat posed by the virus, and how big a problem is its presence on the Polish territory. This is an issue of importance to the food producers, farmers, and the national authorities. As the Sokołów Group we are open to cooperation, which is why we constantly monitor the situation. We cooperate with the Ministry of Agriculture, the Government Plenipotentiary for the mitigation of the ASF effects, and the Veterinary Services.
We support the initiative of pig producers to introduce a Compartment, which would guarantee the normal running of production and marketing in closed circles, to farms professionally engaged in the production of pigs, while maintaining all production safety and bio-safety procedures, regardless of the area where they are located.
With the farmers cooperating with the Sokołów S.A. Company within the framework of the "Together into the Future” programme in mind, we have organized, among others, a training meeting with authority in the field of epidemiology, professor Zygmunt Pejsak who acts as the National Director of the “Pig Diseases” Specialisation continuously since 1997.
At the same time, we would like to ensure that all products supplied by Sokołów S.A. to consumers are fully safe and that the meat and meat products are produced under a constant supervision of the Veterinary Inspection and meet the safety criteria set in the food safety legislation and the rules and regulations regarding dealing with the outbreaks of contagious diseases in animals. At the same time, we would like to emphasise, that the virus causing the disease is transmitted only between pigs and poses no threat to humans.
