Great Sports Wednesday
Great sport emotions, crowds of fans, dance shows, and lots of contests with prizes — such was the Wednesday of 25 January at the sports hall of the K. K. Baczyński School Complex in Sokołów Podlaski. The 1st League female MPKK Sokołów S.A. Sokołów Podlaski basketball team hosted the KKS Olsztyn team. A few hours later, the same hall greeted the female volleyball players from the 1st League Sokołów S.A. Nike Węgrów team. Sokołów S.A. was the main sponsor of the event.
Scores of fans gathered to root for the local team as MPKK Sokołów S.A. Sokołów Podlaski hosted the players from the KKS Olsztyn team. Despite the great support and fierce rivalry, the Sokołów basketball players have lost to their adversaries 48:60. But that didn’t ruin the great sports fun. During the breaks in the game, the spectators could watch artistic performances prepared by the “Ponad Normę Crew” dance group. Sokołów S.A — which was the patron of the whole event — has provided the guests with a hot meal. Everybody had a chance to try a hamburger or a hot-dog prepared by the Sokołów Chef — Dominik Moskalenko.
A free kick contest and a half-field basket throw competition were also held. The winners received souvenirs from the Sokołów Group. During both the MPKK and the NIKE games, a specially prepared slingshot was used to launch gadgets at the fans. T-shirts, sweatshirts, balls, Sokołów products — all these prizes went to the loudest sectors.
The Sokołów S.A. — Joker Metro Świecie Volleyball match was also full of emotions. The exceptional nature of the event could be felt from the very beginning. A special light show accompanied the introduction of the players from both teams. The crowds of fans have filled the venue up to the last place and the Sokołów slingshot constantly fired gadgets towards the stands. The Węgrów “Avocado” Dance-Acrobatic team performed during the time-outs, and the grill manned by Dominik Moskalenko kept on preparing new servings of burgers. Despite putting up a great fight, the NIKE team has also lost to its competitors, 0:3 in sets.
The fans could not hide their satisfaction and excitement from the perfectly organised sporting event. For many years, Sokołów S.A. has been supporting local sport clubs. The company mission is not just to provide the highest quality products, but also to educate and promote a healthy lifestyle. We are happy, that we could witness the greatest of all competitions: the sport rivalry.
